Self-Compassion (SCS-SF)
The Self-Compassion Scale–Short Form (Neff et al.) assesses how you usually treat yourself in hard moments: with kindness and understanding, or with judgment and isolation. Self-compassion is not self-indulgence or "everything's fine," but the ability to treat your own difficulties the way you would treat a close friend's. It's one of the strongest factors of resilience, and, unlike self-esteem, it doesn't depend on how "successful" you are.
Before you start
This describes your habitual way of treating yourself in hard moments, not a judgment of "correctness." Self-compassion is a trainable skill; a low score doesn't mean "you treat yourself badly" — it shows the zone where you can become a support for yourself instead of a critic.
